Ariens Snowblowers Built For Ottawa Winters

For a typical 1 to 2 car Ottawa driveway, a 24 inch model like the Classic 24, Compact 24 or Deluxe 24 is plenty. For 3+ car, long or corner-lot driveways, step up to a 28 or 30 inch Deluxe or Platinum. Rural laneways and commercial work call for the Pro series.

Wheels are easiest to manoeuvre and suit most flat driveways. RapidTrak is worth it for sloped or steep driveways, icy surfaces and packed snow, because the tracks grip where wheels slip. It also switches to wheel mode for easy turning.

SHO (Super High Output) models have a larger, faster impeller that moves more snow per hour and throws it farther, which helps with heavy, wet snow and plow banks. EFI (electronic fuel injection) models start without a choke or primer and run consistently in deep cold.

Every Ariens two-stage model uses steel serrated augers built for packed snow. For a consistently heavy plow bank, we recommend an SHO model or a Pro series machine for the extra power and housing height.
